Got Summer, Autumn, Winter and The Spring also!

10th January 2008

History has been made. Milestones have been set anew. Kuchingnites rejoice in jubilation!

For the first time ever, the city of cats is drowned in the coming of the Spring!!

Today marked the much-awaited and hyped-about grand opening of the Spring, Kuching's first ever multi-retailed shopping outlet in over a decade.

tEh Spring! (not a typo)

And I, was among the many hundreds of sakai Kuchingnites that flooded through its newly opened doors. Thanks so much to my cousin for providing the transport even though we got stuck in the slow-crawling traffic jam. XD

Having found a parking space (thankfully!) we proceeded into the awaiting lobby of tHe Spring.

Very spacious indeed...

Nothing impressive nor significant greeted us as we entered the air-conditioned lobby on the basement floor. However, as the ascending escalator broke through the floor above, the sight literally blew my mind away.

*Squeals*

What greeted me was reminiscent of a shopping mall in KL. The interior was inarguable spacious and the vibrant decorations and furbishing complemented its sheer size. The cherry blossom trees added the finishing touch to what was now the pride of Kuching.

Right in the center of the mall, was this rather spiffy, peculiar-looking piece of modern art that truly befitted the theme of the entire mall. It was too, vibrant, colourful, futuristic and the flowing waters and the ever-moving plates gave it a Zen-influenced design.

I call it.... 'My Three Pillared Prides'

Moving along, I have more pictures of tHe Spring as eye-candies for all you sweet-tooths out there!

Met up with Ryner, Melvin, Bryan and his cousin, Jeremy, Albert and we proceeded to take tHe Spring by storm! So, for those of you that saw a couple of 16 year old kids queuing for an animal balloon from a clown, fret not, it was us!

The 1st floor was just as spacious as the ground floor

As we frolicked some more, stepping into random shops to window shop and commit senseless and random atrocities, I noticed just how packed tHe Spring was. I bet half of Kuching got their lazy asses (public holiday mar dat day) out of bed today to come see and marvel at tHe Spring.

Me thinks that they might be marveling less at the interior and more at the ridiculously priced items on sale. XD

Undermines the term 'bumper-to-bumper traffic'

Another piece of modern art, 'What Chu' Lookin' At?'

Do not be be crest-fallen by my earlier statement concerning the price. If you're a typical Ah Lian gal with piles and piles of moolah to spend, you'd be better off buying the most ridiculously priced items out there at various stores of renown brands.

If you're a thrifty tauke who came only because your wife/s nagged you to when you'd rather be spending time buying 4D or at coffee shops eating kolo mee, you'd find solace at more reasonably priced outlets such as F.O.S or Bata.

If you came without a single intention of buying anything, you're better off in bed with that obnoxiously fat boy/girl friend of yours whose life revolves around DOTA.

With that said, Albert and I braved the latrine of tHe Spring. With high hopes and expectations, we entered the afore-mentioned toilets.........

.....Needless to say, I think I'm going to move along now and throw up. Read Albert's blog for more details.

Para Para Sakura, anyone?

Should you get hungry after countless hours of walking about and inspecting the various shops, there's always the Food Bazaar that you can frequent! There is simply so much things to eat there ranging from Mediterranean to Indian cuisine. Imagine, it covers one whole stretch of a floor!

Of course, there's Kenny Rogers for those who love feasting on roasted chicken breasts.

Then there's Starbucks for all the Ah Bengs and Ah Lians who think that they're already half-Engrand by drinking Engrand coffee.

As with all good things, it must come to an end somewhere. As for tHe Spring, my visit was abruptly cut short at 12.30 p.m. thanks to the Accounts tuition I had sometime in the afternoon.
All in all, the shopping complex was a much-welcomed addition to Kuching and although being unable to compare to those in KL, it was Kuching's new-found pride nonetheless.

tHe Spring guarantees you all a satisfying and orgasmic experience of a life-time! Ask these individuals!

Still reading this blog post???

What are you waiting for?? Go to tHe Spring liaw!! XD XD
