Sociable Equals Fatness

I. Am. Utterly. Surprised.

The horrifying truth of a sociable individual is finally revealed at last by the Japanese, no doubt.

Bet those socialites with curvalicious figures and six-pack abs are now looking for a suitable bridge to jump off of to bring about their ends.

In short for those of you whose minds cannot the accept the gravity of that statement; mingling about with your friends and social buddies will inflate your fat mass tenfolds.

However, being emo and depressed with a knife ever-ready to slit your wrists will make you stay thin? Pure, unadulterated rubbish!!

Fret not, sociable ones, as Nathaniel Sia once again stands up for all that is good in this world!

With that said, I clearly disagree and deny all truth values whatsoever that the above statement stands for.

Here's a thought to feed your body-conscious minds. I'm a sociable being. I love mingling about with anyone. I can't get a day by without opening my motor-mouth to socialize with another human-being.

Take a long, good look at the picture above displaying the blogger's physique. Does that clarify any doubts whatsoever in your mind? If it does, good!

Now, continue staring and drooling on your computer monitors over that fine example of masculinity! =D

Life In The Fast Lane

Well, this blog's officially hovering over that thin line of life and death. So, meh, I decided to throw in a random entry for a bump in content.

Life in Form 5 was rather refreshing unlike the past few years when I drag my lifeless body to school and back following a miserably-repetitive schedule for days on end.

But not in Form 5 though. Finally, I had other things to do apart from school. Why some might ask?

1. I'm learning to survive on a mere 7 hours sleep (no naps included) per day as I hardly have the time to doze off unlike last year. I truly was a pig who slept and lazed around all day back in Form 4.

2. I'm starting to trim down on my tummy! (Squeals) And also aiming for that buff six-packs abs.

3. For the first time in secondary school, I've quit the badminton club and opted for something new; bowling! I must say, bowling is just as exhilarating as badminton sans the rackets and shuttlecocks.

4. Taking an extra subject of accounts and possibly considering taking up English literature.

5. I can finally draw faces and potraits!!

6. Probably getting a whole new gaming desktop as an 'uber-late straight A's PMR' present

7. Learning to drive a car this year!!

8. My Mandarin is definitely improving but my English has seen a sudden decline in its fluency.

9. Looking forward to travel a lot this year both in the country and overseas

10. And of course, there's SPM to look forward to! Whee!! (insert sarcasm here)

That about sums it up. And here's a random picture for your personal enjoyment. =D

I feel blue, do you?

Sick....

Don't you just hate it when you wake up in the early morning with that mind-throbbing pain pounding in the back of your head?

Or when your body feels like it weighs a million tonnes so much so that every single movement took an enormous effort?

Yep, I fell sick with the flu, and a very bad case I must say. Been having a runny nose till now, throat's killing me and my body feels unusually weak and cold.

Couldn't go to school this morning even though my conscience was bugging me to seeing as I had unsettled business in school today.

So, for those of you reading this, especially those I promised to help today, like sorting out the Science Club attendance list (Rachel) and obtaining the SEAMEO project results (Liew), I'm sorry for not being there today......

Emo....emo...emo.....emo.....XD

Got Summer, Autumn, Winter and The Spring also!

10th January 2008

History has been made. Milestones have been set anew. Kuchingnites rejoice in jubilation!

For the first time ever, the city of cats is drowned in the coming of the Spring!!

Today marked the much-awaited and hyped-about grand opening of the Spring, Kuching's first ever multi-retailed shopping outlet in over a decade.

tEh Spring! (not a typo)

And I, was among the many hundreds of sakai Kuchingnites that flooded through its newly opened doors. Thanks so much to my cousin for providing the transport even though we got stuck in the slow-crawling traffic jam. XD

Having found a parking space (thankfully!) we proceeded into the awaiting lobby of tHe Spring.

Very spacious indeed...

Nothing impressive nor significant greeted us as we entered the air-conditioned lobby on the basement floor. However, as the ascending escalator broke through the floor above, the sight literally blew my mind away.

*Squeals*

What greeted me was reminiscent of a shopping mall in KL. The interior was inarguable spacious and the vibrant decorations and furbishing complemented its sheer size. The cherry blossom trees added the finishing touch to what was now the pride of Kuching.

Right in the center of the mall, was this rather spiffy, peculiar-looking piece of modern art that truly befitted the theme of the entire mall. It was too, vibrant, colourful, futuristic and the flowing waters and the ever-moving plates gave it a Zen-influenced design.

I call it.... 'My Three Pillared Prides'

Moving along, I have more pictures of tHe Spring as eye-candies for all you sweet-tooths out there!

Met up with Ryner, Melvin, Bryan and his cousin, Jeremy, Albert and we proceeded to take tHe Spring by storm! So, for those of you that saw a couple of 16 year old kids queuing for an animal balloon from a clown, fret not, it was us!

The 1st floor was just as spacious as the ground floor

As we frolicked some more, stepping into random shops to window shop and commit senseless and random atrocities, I noticed just how packed tHe Spring was. I bet half of Kuching got their lazy asses (public holiday mar dat day) out of bed today to come see and marvel at tHe Spring.

Me thinks that they might be marveling less at the interior and more at the ridiculously priced items on sale. XD

Undermines the term 'bumper-to-bumper traffic'

Another piece of modern art, 'What Chu' Lookin' At?'

Do not be be crest-fallen by my earlier statement concerning the price. If you're a typical Ah Lian gal with piles and piles of moolah to spend, you'd be better off buying the most ridiculously priced items out there at various stores of renown brands.

If you're a thrifty tauke who came only because your wife/s nagged you to when you'd rather be spending time buying 4D or at coffee shops eating kolo mee, you'd find solace at more reasonably priced outlets such as F.O.S or Bata.

If you came without a single intention of buying anything, you're better off in bed with that obnoxiously fat boy/girl friend of yours whose life revolves around DOTA.

With that said, Albert and I braved the latrine of tHe Spring. With high hopes and expectations, we entered the afore-mentioned toilets.........

.....Needless to say, I think I'm going to move along now and throw up. Read Albert's blog for more details.

Para Para Sakura, anyone?

Should you get hungry after countless hours of walking about and inspecting the various shops, there's always the Food Bazaar that you can frequent! There is simply so much things to eat there ranging from Mediterranean to Indian cuisine. Imagine, it covers one whole stretch of a floor!

Of course, there's Kenny Rogers for those who love feasting on roasted chicken breasts.

Then there's Starbucks for all the Ah Bengs and Ah Lians who think that they're already half-Engrand by drinking Engrand coffee.

As with all good things, it must come to an end somewhere. As for tHe Spring, my visit was abruptly cut short at 12.30 p.m. thanks to the Accounts tuition I had sometime in the afternoon.
All in all, the shopping complex was a much-welcomed addition to Kuching and although being unable to compare to those in KL, it was Kuching's new-found pride nonetheless.

tHe Spring guarantees you all a satisfying and orgasmic experience of a life-time! Ask these individuals!

Still reading this blog post???

What are you waiting for?? Go to tHe Spring liaw!! XD XD

The Night Before The Spring

Meh. Just to tell you all that I'm heading to the newly opened The Spring tomorrow and perhaps unforeseen circumstances will not hinder my trip there.

Hopefully, I might be able to take a photo together with JJ and Rudy, the Hitz.fm DJ's if the rumors prove true!!!

Gone With The Old....In With The New

Wow, it's so hard to believe 2008 has finally settled in. Just within a blink of an eye, I reluctantly welcomed 2008 due to the colossal menace it was about to bring......

SPM!!!!!

Anyways, let's recap what I've done in the past year for the pleasures of all you blog readers out there.

January was a boring year. SMK Batu Lintang happily welcomed us post-PMR students back into its cruel, iron-grip embrace and we suffered tremendously under the shit-load of homework and lessons Form 4 brought about. Met and befriended most of the 3A students in our new class.

I got 400 ringgit richer in February with the arrival of Chinese New Year and managed to go group-visiting together with most of my old primary school friends. Not to forget, celebrating the New Year at various relatives' houses.

The next month of March saw me standing up on stage during my annual Vui Neng association awards-giving ceremony. Safe to say, I was again, the only male student in my association to score straight A's for my PMR.

I think it was somewhere in April where SMK Batu Lintang celebrated its annual Sports Day and unlike the previous years, I actually participated in it!!! No, I wasn't involved in any form of sports, not in the First Aid Team, and definitely not in the marching parade. I was instead......

......the official time-keeper and judge of the track and field events. So, those of you who weren't doing me favors or bribing me, take a good long look at the last places that you finished in. (insert evil laugh here)

Did nothing much of significance on May except for school and yes, more school. I'd skip the details as readers are facing just as much agony as me by even dragging their limp body to school.

The month of June spirited me off to the land below the wind, Sabah or better known as East Malaysia's better half. Thanks to my dad for having their inter-office sports championships there, I hopped on the earliest flight and departed for Kota Kinabalu.

Saw wonderful things, ate notoriously-famous local delicacies and even visited offshore islands for a little snorkelling with both the fishes and mermaids.

On the very same month, my grandpa celebrated his 79th birthday and the entire family was there to behold that wonderful occasion. It took place in Holiday Inn and everyone had a blast!!

If last year's occasion was grand and spectacular, I can guarantee that this year's celebration was going to blow the roof off of whatever venue we were going to hold it at.

Let's just skip July, even more boring days of school and the occasional weekends and holidays. Nothing much, really.

However, things in August took a turn for the better as I jetted off to the entertainment capital of Malaysia, Genting Highlands. Coupled with the fact that I was going to stay at the prestigious Awana Hotel Resort, this had to be the best vacation yet.

Spent most of the time there checking out the rides, gambling the limited fortune I possess away and posed with several ridiculous and senseless photo opportunities.

Several days after I got back from Genting Highlands, I lent a hand in the hosting of and attended SMK Batu Lintang's very own Prefects' Night.

Oh boy, that was one of the best formal functions I have attended what not with all the food, prizes, games and the friends that I hung out with. Despite the fact that I was one of the MC's for that night, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Fast forwarding through September and October as I was busy getting ready for my end of year's Semester Exams, we arrive at the month of November which was perhaps, the most significant month of the year.

There I was, sitting at the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Pelajar SMK Batu Lintang when Cikgu Haryati approached me with this question, "Do you want to go to Port Dickson?" And I was all like, "Hell yeah!"

Several days later, I found myself in Port Dickson, attending an Anugerah Kecemerlangan Kokurikulum whilst representing SMK Batu Lintang's Science Club. Oh wow, my first solo trip ever!

Learnt the hard way of cramming into a room of 7 students, surviving a kepoma Minister's speech at midnight, the way of strutting to receive a prestigious award and haggling prices at the gigantic pasar borong of Nilai during my stay at Port Dickson.

Finally, we come to the month where the Christmas mood was in the air. What better way to celebrate the ends of December by taking an extended family vacation in KL!

Spent the first half of my trip in the heart of KL or more specifically, Jalan Bukit Bintang whilst shopping at the various shopping malls there. The second half of the trip was spent at Sunway Lagoon where I shopped some more and paid a visit to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park!

Indeed, I will miss 2007 and I hope the year 2008 will bring just as much good tidings as its previous year.

Till then, Happy New Year!!!!
